| Temple Solel is delighted to welcome Rabbi Earl Starr and his wife, Phyllis to our congregation as the Interim Rabbi, during Rabbi Berlin's sabbatical. Rabbi Starr had lived in the Seattle and Bellevue Washington area where he served as the Senior Rabbi at the Temple de Hirsch Sinai for over thirty years. He was named Rabbi Emeritus of that congregation after his retirement 5 years ago. Prior to joining Temple de Hirsch Sinai, Rabbi Starr served as Assistant Rabbi at Rodeph Shalom in Philadelphia, as Rabbi at Congregation B'nai Brith in Kingston, PA and as Rabbi at Temple Judea in Philadelphia. He is a graduate of HUC-JIR. Rabbi Starr's warm and energetic personality is captivating as anyone who has had the pleasure to join him at Temple Solel's Shabbat services can attest to. You are invited to meet Rabbi Starr on the phone or in person. His office door is never closed, and Shabbat services with him are a true "oneg Shabbat" - a Sabbath joy. |
