President's Message
Whether
you are a current or prospective member, or just visiting, I want to extend a
warm, heartfelt welcome to Temple Solel. You may be new to the Valley of the
Sun or longtime residents, but in either case, you will find that Solel and
Arizona have something in common: The more you explore and discover, the more
you will love what you find.
As you may already have read elsewhere on our website, Temple Solel's mission is to be a vibrant, inclusive and engaged Reform community, grounded in relationships and deeds, and elevated by Shabbat and Torah. These are not just words - they are who we are as a community. As you visit our congregation, explore, and discover, it will not take you long to see what I mean. Until then, here is a little teaser in the form of a "quick tour" through the words of our mission statement:
Vibrant? Stop by on Sunday mornings when religious school is in session and the Boker Tov Bistro is brimming with activity. Inclusive and engaged? Take a look at the Solel Committees engaged in social action, outreach, education and so much more. And, when you visit, ask us how we've stepped up both within and beyond our community when difficult times and crises have challenged us.
Grounded in relationships? If I am allowed to have a personal favorite, this is it. Every individual matters, and we support, nurture, and grow together as a congregation through our relationships with each other and with the community around us. The friends I have met in the years that I have been at Solel nourish me every day and I am thankful for that.
Elevated by Shabbat and Torah? Please join us for Friday night services, Torah study, or for a Shabbat morning service. We are so fortunate to have Rabbi John Linder and Cantorial Soloist Todd Herzog who, together, create and craft the most beautiful and elevating Shabbat experiences.
There is a lot to explore. If not now, when? Please come and explore with us!
L'Shalom,
