I would like to begin by saying to all of you how lucky and excited I feel to be given the opportunity in being the next President of Temple Solel. These next few years are going to be exciting as we kickoff our next 50 years for Temple Solel. We are fortunate to build on the legacy that has been handed over to us these past 50 years and to set the stage as we dream and envision our bright and amazing journey into the future.
What gave me great pleasure this past April when I had the honor of sitting on the bimah during the Shabbat Service for Temple Solel’s 50th Anniversary celebration and watching as the social hall was transformed from seating the expected 250 guests to the 700 congregants that actually attended. That night demonstrated to me that Temple Solel and our community can and will survive anything.
Our goal together over the next few years will be to set the stage for Solel’s next 50 years as “We carry on to elevate Temple Solel to a place where our children will be proud of this legacy created by some forward thinking people who dared to dream big in 1966 and 2016!”
As proud as we are of our congregation now, I look forward to working with our staff, with Rabbi Linder, with Temple Solel’s Board of Trustees and with all of the members of our Congregation to continue to build on our legacy and together achieving new heights in our future.
I am truly humbled to serve as Temple Solel’s President during this journey that all of us will be making together. It will yield some exciting and engaging opportunities and experiences over the next few years. I will look forward to celebrating with all of you at the 100th celebration in 2066!
